Sunshine Coast Pickleball Club Etiquette

PICKLEBALL ETIQUETTE

  • Meet at the net after the game has finished and tap paddles
  • Call score loudly before serving
  • Limit lobs to movement impaired players
  • Try not to smash less skilled players
  • Call your own foot faults
  • Congratulate a Special shot or rally
  • Call “ball on court” loudly and stop play
  • When a stray ball is hit onto your court, pick it up and give it back to the correct team, don’t just hit the ball anywhere
  • Try not to walk past a point that is being played by another game
  • Good sportsmanship always

GENERAL RULES TO BE OBSERVED

  • Out ball decisions are made by the receiving end, not the other end
  • If you wish to ask your opponents if they think the ball is in or out, you may and then you abide by their decision
  • If you are not sure if the ball is in or out, it’s in
  • Do not admonish other players on and off the court. This includes foul language, even at yourself.
  • Spectators should not be calling line decisions
  • Don’t argue with your opponents about a shot. In social play if you can’t make a decision, simply play the point again.

Please read the waiver you are accepting when you join/renew, and that you will sign electronically when booking your first session in Opensports

Junior' players under the age of 18 years joining the club or entering sessions via Opensports, must complete a printed waiver signed by their legal guardian and then forward the signed waiver to 

secretary@scpickleball.com.au
 
A SCPC annotated copy of the waiver will be returned to you and must be presented to the SCPC session host before the junior can play.
